2022 Teacher Grant

Deadline Extended ~ Criteria Expanded

Ogontz Arts Foundation is committed to supporting music educators in their efforts to provide quality choral instruction and to develop a love of singing in their students. The Ogontz Choral Workshop provides an opportunity not only to study significant repertoire with a master conductor, but to experience outstanding teaching/conducting methods and practices, as modeled by David Hill and Paula Rockwell.

Thanks to a generous donor and a newly awarded grant from Choral Arts New England, we are offering $400 Workshop grants to a limited number of teachers in the early stages of their careers. We invite you to apply for the grant if …

… you have successfully completed 1 – 5 years (OR are about to begin your first year) of teaching music in a K-12 school,  and

… you (will) work actively in teaching singing to students, and

… you are contracted to do that in the 2022-2023 school year.

On the application form you will be asked to describe your job responsibilities and the work you do with students. You will also need to provide a letter of support from your supervisor (principal, department head, professor, etc.).

Submission deadline for your application and supervisor recommendation: midnight EDT Saturday 9 July. You will be notified of your status by 12 July.

You do not need to register or pay for the Workshop until you are notified of your grant status.

Make sure to read the Health & Safety Information before applying.
