The Auction

This year’s workshop will feature a Live Auction in support of  Ogontz Arts Foundation. Proceeds allow the Foundation to offer discounted Workshop tuition to all college students and to keep the Workshop affordable for all.

We will once again provide a special opportunity for attendees to contribute toward a scholarship fund for students pursuing a degree in music. This year we welcome five awardees, thanks to the generosity of the 2019 auction audience.

We’ve collected several popular items from past auctions for this year including two private voice lessons during camp with our amazing Paula Rockwell, a conducting lesson with Maestro David Hill, a piano lesson with Geoff Wieting, and other items pictured here.

We would like to add several more fabulous items to the list and hope that some of you might have a vacation home you could share for a weekend or tickets to a Broadway show, fabulous concert or other event that Ogontz singers would love to bid on. Please consider donating an item or a themed basket, valued at $100 or more, to add to the event. If you have an idea for an item, please email Maria Lamson.

Watercolor scenes of Pennsylvania by Milford H. Patterson (1910 – 1983)

Debbie Clark says, “My father was a highly respected Pennsylvania architect, who graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Architectural School in 1932, was a charter member (1979) of the Pennsylvania Society of Watercolor Painters (now the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society), and a member of the American Institute of Architects. He painted before he married my mother and then not again until my brothers and I were grown. He painted from slides he had taken driving around to supervise his various design projects and also went on painting outings with the Harrisburg Art Association whose building he transformed into gracious galleries and studios for art classes in the mid 60’s.

There are 11 paintings in all. Below is a sampling. Click on thumbnails for larger view.
